iphone charging and battery

My question is pretty simple, If I'm able to be charging up my iphone, should I be doing it? I always thought it was bad to have it plugged in all the time, but now I am hearing otherwise.

A trickle charge on a full charged battery isn't going to do anything.

It used to be bad to keep a rechargeable object constantly charged. That is no longer the case.
