HiI have an iPhone 5 that works fine.

It charges on the wall, through my work PC and through my brother's newer MBP. It can't be the iPhone since it connects fine to other locations, right?

However, out of the blue, sometimes it won't connect properly through either of the USB ports on my MBP. iTunes will also only sometimes recognize it, or for a few minutes, and then I have to replug it in for it to charge or be recognized.

What's odd, is that a third party mouse which works fine. I used a mouse for at least an hour without any issues.

Is this a faulty USB port? I'm out of warranty and don't wanna have the whole logic board replaced ... but this is a serious problem! Could it be software related? Seems unlikely ...
