I was looking at my screen a minute ago and suddenly a message box popped up saying "There is currently a Core Dump in progress. This may take a few moments."

Has anyone seen this before? I'm running 3.0 Beta 3 as a developer. I'm a struggling developer so don't slam me 'cause I don't know what a Core Dump is.

    Darn!!

Darn, I was hoping that it was just diarrhea related to Corn Originated Rectal Explosion!! All iPhones have to take a dump now and then. Give it a roll of toilet tissue and some privacy!!

Yes, it's basically dumping a bunch of information from memory and about the current state of the kernel and whatnot so that it has a detailed error report to send to Apple. This data should be uploaded to Apple when you sync with iTunes.

Put simply, a core dump is essentially an execution path of "core code"

I had a "BaseBand Core Dump" pop up last night. So quick that i only got the title, not what the message said. It was gone in a second.
