My iPhone 6 is crashing constantly. It will refresh itself every 2 minutes and come to login screen. it happens whether it is sitting idle or whether i am using it. It is a 16 gb model and i deleted few apps after this occurred. still it is crashing. what to do next. i can do factory restore what if it crashes in the middle of the process?

Could be on its way out.. I would try a restore.. Do an iCloud and iTunes backup first if it will run long enough to get them.. make sure you have a good cable also..

This just started happening to my iPhone X 64GB today. It’s become completely unusable, I can’t get more than 30 seconds or so into using any app and it crashes and goes back to the lock screen. Happens even if I’m not doing anything, just sitting on the home screen.

Anyone got any idea? It’s been perfect for the last few weeks since I got it. Only started today. :(

Hi. I woke up to this issue this morning. My phone was working fine last night. I went into apple and met with their Genius Bar team. At 11am, they had already encountered quite a few instances already around Australia, with multiple people having the issue and raising it in store. This was the first post I’ve found on the topic.

No immediate solution, however to stabilize the phone (ie so it doesn’t keep sending you back to the lock screen every 30 seconds) go into your time and date settings and change the date to 30 November. They seem to think this has something to do with the date changing over to 1 December. After changing he date, I can use the phone fine.

Not much else to do until they release a patch it would seem. Apple Australia have said that they have raised tickets to the USA and are working on it. Good luck.

Post back if the temporary fix works.
Cheers

Good to know it worked for you. I have also tried full reinstallatiok from back up. Was looking positive but has just started crashing again. Had to revert back to my fix....

This has just started happening to me in the UK with my iPhone X as well.

Got woken up by the “charging” sound every few seconds, phone was pretty hot and now I can’t use it for more than 30 seconds at a time and it’s remaining pretty hot.

i set it up as a new iphone..maybe it was due to it..

Same here, me and my wife woke up to this issue this morning (iPhone 8 and iPhone 7+). Had a chat with Optus support - they don't know anything about this issue, said it's probably hardware problem and advised us to lodge official ticket and send devices to them. Since it seems to be a software issue, I think we'll wait. changing the date manually to 30th November helps, but it's hardly a solution :(

I’m in the UK and think I have the exact same issue.
iPhone 7+ was working just fine until the 2nd Dec. Now every 1min 20sec it drops to a black screen with a spinning white circle of lines in the middle then back to the Log In screen. I have changed the date to the 29 Nov and it seems stable. So far after 20 minutes it’s been fine. Hardly a fix but I hope it gets sorted soon.

Discussion of this at https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/apps-crashing-december-2.2092426/#post-25544839 might be of some help as well.

After posting above I installed the latest iOS 11.2 beta using iTunes (funny, that’s the first time I’ve connected an iPhone to iTunes in years!) and the problem went away. So either the bug is fixed in 11.2 or the software update process was enough. Not a great solution to be generally recommended, but another data point.
[doublepost=1512194554][/doublepost]This page (via C DM earlier, thanks) seems to be the best summary of the issue and solutions:

It seems into indicate that 11.2 does indeed fix the bug.

[doublepost=1512196669][/doublepost]I had the same issue this morning when I woke up. I couldn’t use my iPhone 7 continuously for 2 minuets. I came to check these comments and I tried changing my date to 30th November and it’s now stable

Problems all day with reboots on iPhone and iPad, just checked updates and found iOS 11.2 ready to download and install.

I'm trying this now. Changed the date back to Nov 25, trying to update now...fingers crossed because if this doesn't work I'm going to cry!!!

I fixed this problem setting the time clock a day behind. So it happened to me on December 9th and I set it to dec 8th. After that I just updated the phone through iTunes and it worked smoothly.
