iPhone Deactivation: Possible?

I got an iPhone from a friend of mine, but it still has his number on it. I can restore it, but that just gets rid of the songs and such. How do I deactivate his account and activate mine?
 
Get a new sim. Thats all, that sim will be associated with your account and number. He should have taken his.
