Is it the only option for making apps on the iphone? or can you straight up code?
I was wondering if anyone here has it? If so is it worth the 100 bucks? and does it do all the coding for you? and can you go back an edit the code it does?

You seem to be mixing up two different things here, so to clarify:
1. The $99 is to join Apple's iPhone Developer's Program which allows you to submit apps [that you have coded] to Apple's App store.
2. The iPhone SDK (Software Developer's Kit) is the actual "program" you use to code these apps and it is a free download, so yes, you can "straight up code" away, but to get it to an iPhone (without just running it on the iPhone simulator on your Mac) you need to join the Developer's Program.
