I've been seeing and reading a smattering of different thoughts and threads speculating about he differences between first year flagship models and the following year's (S) model upgrade, so I wanted to throw. Couple of charts everyone's way, so we could all be on the same page regarding how Apple has updated specs in the past. Do keep in mind that, for better or worse, these charts don't have Apple's marketing hype with them boasting 75% faster graphics or 150% better rendering, etc. etc.

The first file is a chart comparing the raw specs of the iPhone 4 to the 4(S).

The second file is a chart comparing the raw specs of the iPhones 5/5C/5(S) and iPhone 6/6(Plus)

I actually haven't realized we've all been surviving on 1gb of ram for so long.

THAT'S why I think Apple with up it to 2 or 3 with this latest iteration (and not b/c of people's whining & empty threats).

I think we'll see the following as well:

    • A processor bump
    • A battery life bump
    • A resolution (PPI) bump
    • A camera aperture/pixel size bump
    • Stronger glass/sapphire
    • Stronger aluminum
    • Force touch
