I know this will never happen, and it'd be silly, but I think a digital crown would be quite useful on iPhone. Thoughts?

Prior to my iPhone, way back in 2006, I had a Cingular wireless tilt, I think it was called. It had a scroll wheel on the side. It was way more useful than you'd think it would be. Although, things have came along way in the last 10 years or so.

The digital crown on an iPhone, I don't think it's a great idea. Cool pics though.

IMO, it's not that useful on iPhone because you need 2 hands to operate that little button. That's why they invented the click wheel on the ipod but not the digital crown.

It is my impression that most people need two hands to 'fully use' iPhone 6 Plus, as well.

Would be too akin to the scroll wheel on blackberry phones. I don't see it happening, there just isn't a need. In fact I'm so bold as to say one day the Apple Watch won't have one either.

I saw the report on the Digital Crown on the iPhone too and it was to include the home button and the finger print scanner.

The watch will always have the Digital Crown just like the iPhone will always have the home button.

I don't see it happening. Though after using it a lot on my watch, I found myself looking for it when attempting to scroll through an email on my phone.

Aside from the fact that's it's a sort of homage to the crown on a traditional watch, the main reason Apple gave for using the crown was that the screen is so small that you end up covering up what you're scrolling with your finger. That's not an issue with the phone. I think quite frankly that this is a terrible idea.

there's no need for a scroll wheel on a iPhone, with the larger screen you can use your finger so much easier.

Apple made a big deal about having to create a new input method for the small screen of the watch. I highly doubt they will just paste it to the iPhone just because. If they do, it will be because of a MAJOR change in the way we use iOS to justify such an input.

Surely not, slip cases are a great way of protecting the phone you stick in your pocket. I'm sure somebody at Apple would think of this and various other reasons you don't want to add a digital crow.

Besides, what's wrong with pinch and zoom..?

Nah, never happen.

People, here, are p|ssed about the protruding camera lens, I can't imagine what they would say with the honker crown sticking out the side.

There is really no need for that with the iPhone screen size.
