aerospace sorry but no home translator..ask to prospero42 he can explain you what to do ;)

@aerospace:

I attached my patched and signed iapd for FW2.1. Don't forget to back up your original one.
And don't forget to change the file permissions to 0755 after copying it to the iPhone!

Try this fix:
1) Download ipad_patched
2) Put this file under /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/IAP.framework/Support (don't overwrite the original one, backup it)
3) Set the file permission to 755
4) Reboot iPhone

This ipad patched was from 2.0.2 firmware but i've succesfully tested it also on 2.1 firmware without problem. ;)

I can confirm this works!!!

I updated my FW2.0.1 to FW2.1 first using quickpwn2.1. The error was still there so I followed the steps as stated above and now the pop up box doesn't show up and the speaker sounds work! Good job Suondmao!!!!

battery life

This thread has info that everyone needs to know - can we cross post this fix on hackint0sh?

AlSO-
My battery was running down to zero (because IAPD wouldnt shut up maybe) when I had the "this accessory.." bug even when it was supposed to be sleeping (because it wouldnt stay asleep). Did anyone else experience that same behavior, and did this fix repair that problem and restore battery life to normal expectations?

I think this was caused at least for me by a drop of sweat in the dock connector. The guy at the genius bar was completely rude to me when i supposed that in front of him, he said - Oh, liquid damage, not covered. When i argued with him his only answer was "Sir there is no answer I can give that will satisfy you". He kept repeating that till I left.

Damn punks!

That's exactly the same behavior my iPhone has, I don't know how this was caused, it just started happening right after the 2.02 upgrade/unlock/jailbreak.

I did the fix 10 mins ago and 'till now the error hasn't shown up... before the fix my batterie life was 6 hours max... I'll write back tomorrow to give you the final results.

i don't know if this fix can also solve your battery problem, i can hope it. :)
wait for godog test.

It works! :) ... The accesory error stoped showing and my battery life is back to normal (at least since this morning)... This fix should be published at hackint0sh forum...

The only doubt I still have is why this happened to my phone? and I guess i will have to do the fix after every FW upgrade...

This might be a 2.x bug... is everybody here sure that the problem was caused by a hardware failure? I pretty sure it didn't in my case.

So it looks like the patch fixes 1 problem BUT creates another. Previously, even with the "accessory does not work" pop up problem, I would still be able to connect the iPhone to my Car stereo ipod dock connector. Now that I replaced the iapd file, although the pop up and speaker sound work again, it can not connect to my car stereo :(

Although I am grateful for Suondomo's fix, I was hoping to find a true fix where it fixes the problem without causing another.

Suondomo: When you say this patch worked on 2.0.2 and partially on 2.1, is this what you were talking about? If I downgrade back to 2.0.2. will the patch fix the problem without affecting my connection to my car stereo? How did you come about creating this patch? Can you make one specifically for 2.1?

Yes, i've made some test with damaged iPhone and these are the results:
- iPhone firmware 2.0.2 with patched iapd (from 2.0.2): sounds works, external device works
- iPhone firmware 2.1 with patched iapd (from 2.0.2): sounds works, external device doesn't works.
- iPhone firmware 2.0.2 with patched iapd (from 2.1): sounds dosen't works, external device not tested
- iPhone firmware 2.1 with patched iapd (from 2.1): sounds dosen't works, external device works.
These tests are made on 2 damaged iPhone with 2 external device (xGPS module and universal dock), i'm not sure if you car stereo will work...

How did you come about creating this patch? Can you make one specifically for 2.1?
Here is the guide to patch ipad file, it's in italian, use google tranlsator. I've also tried for some time to make a working iapd 2.1 patch but i don't have got success :(

Suondmao, you've done a great job so far... the most anyone has tried before. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. I'm sure you'll find a patch sooner or later for 2.1

In the mean time, can you give me a link to download the 2.1 semi-patch? To be clear, it does not fix the sounds but external device works and the "This Accessory doesn't work.." pop-up is eliminated?

Yes, it only fix *some* external device compatibility (car stereo are ok, but for example external projectors doesn't work). Please read from post #114 to #127 in this thread, you will find what you're searching for..
But i repeat, this patch wasn't made for this scope! use it only if you had sound freeze problem..do not use only for remove the pop-up! ok?

Hola Use esta opcion (iPhone firmware 2.0.2 with patched iapd (from 2.0.2)):
y el resultado fue sonido funciona solo 10 segundos aprox,
external device funcionan ok

I tried this solution iPhone firmware 2.0.2 with patched iapd (from 2.0.2):
and the result was:
- sounds works only 10 secs aprox
- external device works

Suondmao: Did you know that something in the "Quake4iphone" app temporarily fixes the sound freeze problem? Maybe you could contact ZodTTD the creator to find the code that fixes the problem?

thanks but i'm not interested. i've made this patch and it works well for damaged docks (by now it's succesfully tested on more than 100 device). stop

I see. Just wanted to help out any way I can. So are you still trying to find a true patch for 2.1? Where the pop up box, sound freeze, and external devices work?

no i'm not. i've alredy told this: i've tired to found one but i fail and i've decided to publish the old one. Now i'm working on other projects :)

Hello!

My situation: iPhone 3G w/jailbreak, OS ver. 2.1, NON-apple AV-cable(for TV-out signal), ~90 sec. of normal work with this cable then "This accessory is not made to work...bla-bla...to airplane mode...bla-bla" and TV-screen lose the signal.
So - i get patched iapd from Prospero42(post 127 above), replace original iapd in the /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/IAP.framework/Support and set 0755 permission on it. All this done through WinSCP, SFTP-client for Windows. And then reboot my iPhone.
No success. :( The only "achievement" - nag screen "This accessory is..." doesn't appear anymore, TV-screen just go to black after ~90 sec. of normal work and iPhone return to the list of video files on it.

Is there any patch/workaround for non-apple AV-cable? I thank in advance for your answers!!

why were you blowing hair into it???

you blow air.. cause its dust particles or water n e lil micro crap thats stuck between 2 lens that help charge n keep the iphone with volume.. i blasted air into it.. as if u would with your keyboard n etc.. i havent had that problem ever since..

this accessory is not made to work with iphone - a fix please!

My iPhone got water spilled on it, Im not sure if there is still moisture in it, this happened 2 weeks ago.
I get the annoying message and iPhone sound dissapears everytime I unlock the screen.

I have tried all blowing air, lifting back black battery cover and blowing more air, cleaning any debris from the dock connector, using alcohol, reinstalling all software, using ipad now.

Does anyone know what actually happens???

I have installed the ipad on my 2.1 2G iphone, but still have no sound.
The message does no longer appear fortunately, but i would love to have an all together fix.

Please update us with any advances in the ipad or anything that fixes the issue in full!!

thanks!!!!

@SamMan. Same problem here. I have an "iDock Iphone 3G" bought off ebay. It looks just like this one:
http://www.tigermarket.eu/shop/iDoc...ation-Chip-for-iPhone-3G-iPhone-iPod-Upgraded

I've applied the ipda 2.1 patch and the annoying "this accessory is not made to work with iphone" disapears, however like you video is only displayed for a few seconds on the TV before it cuts out. Audio contiunes but video out is redirected back to the iphone.

I have a jailbroken iPhone 3G with 2.1 installed.

Do you think running this script would make any difference?

I'm on 2.2 and I tried all of this. It doesn't seem to work. The patched iapd or whatever stops the message but it still stop the speaker sound.

I'm Also on FW2.2.. I tried all the things from above, but didnt seems to work 100%. Can someone make a patched iapd for FW2.2? :)

I'm not really in the mood for downgrading to FW2.1

I've haven't made the new patch jet, but prospero make one.
You can find it here.
(i don't know if it works, maybe in the new firmware the checks are changed a lot)

First off, hello to all, Ive had alot of help just reading this thread... I too suffer the infamous error message and sound going out.

Initially I got my phone a few weeks ago with 1.1.4 on it, I unlocked and jailbroke it, worked fine... I saw 2.2 was now able to be jailbroken and unlocked, so I jumped on it.... the message started coming up a while later.

Long boring story short, prev owner caused some water damage, so I tried the 2.1 patched IAPD on 2.2, error gone, sound still not working.

Read some more, finally applied the 2.0.2 iapd to a custom 2.0.2 FW I made.

for over a week and a half its worked great, sound, no error, external devices.

Today, I got overzealous, I found FWChanger, I wanted the phone to thinnk it was 2.1 so I could get MySpace app from the app store.... after I did all this, the phone started losing sound again randomly.

No matter what Ive tried, I believe I need to now restore my phone with the custom 2.0.2 again.

I wanted to try the new 2.2 iapd just posted on the site in the post above mine, but the 2.1 patch for 2.1 from this same member, still didnt change the loss of sound, so Im wondering if the 2.2 patch in 2.2 will be the same.

Anyone try this one yet?

ALSO I have swapped out the internals of my phone from another one that had no screen, mine WAS a 4gb model, I put in 8GB logic board, with battery, new back cover as well.... problem persisted, so all thats left is the dock connector and its flex cable.... I just for the life of me could not figure out how to safely replace the dock connector, and have found no guides.

Id like to help in anyway that I can resolve this issue for everyone, its irritating. lets get this working.
