Iphone dock question

woohoo, 1st post😛
anywho, i have been reading up on docks for my iphone and i just had 2 questions.
1. Does it hurt your battery if you leave your phone in a dock (ex. alarm clock, speaker dock) overnight to charge?
2. Can you use your phone with docks if you have a case on? (The apple dock i have wont work with any case 🙁.

^ This. There's no one-size-fits-all answer for the second question as all docks and cases are not the same. Any given dock will not accommodate all cases (if any) out there.
