I just got a new Lenovo laptop (B50 series), and have just tried to connect my iphone to the laptop.
When I connect it, it does not charge or show up in itunes/my computer, it just makes the connection notification beep sound repeatedly the whole time it is plugged in.

The cord is fine as it works with the iphone in the other computer. The same error happens with all 3 usb ports.
Edit: also, all 3 usb ports work with other usb cords/flash drives. Also tried connecting an iphone 5 with its cable and that worked.

Please help, I need the iphone to connect to my computer!! I couldn't find a solution online.

I have seen the same symptoms a few times and it was always a defective cable. You seem to have eliminated that though so the next logical choice would be a bad USB port. You seem to have eliminated them also so that leaves the phone but you state that it works on another computer so I have no idea. ???

I have faced this issue, the root cause is the cable. Maybe you are using non-genuine cable.

Cable is genuine. Tried with my other cable (when I found it, hehe) and it worked. So it must have just been the cable I was using, even though it appears to be fine and works on other computers.
