My iPhone 4 does not update the playcount..? When viewing the connected device on iTunes, the last playcount it recorded was a song from July of 2014.

I use my iPhone 4 connected to a stereo via AUX all the time, but this does not update or even add playcount. It doesn't get updated via Bluetooth in the car or playing a song through the iPhone speaker.

This doesn't make any sense. I also have an iPhone 5S and it records the playcount of Bluetooth, iPhone speaker, AUX, and headphones. So what gives?

iTunes notes the date correctly when I add an album to the phone, but it can't get playcount right?

Either nobody knows or nobody cares.

Then again, it could just be CrapTunes being crap.

Unless you have iTunes Match I believe you have to manually plug your iPhone into your computer and sync it in order to update the play count.

That's right. You need to sync the phone to the computer using iTunes.

If you have iTunes Match, they get updated once a day the first time you play a track each day or when you update iTunes Match.

I don't have iTunes Match and my iPhone 5s updates the playcount?

I have synced my iPhone 4 many times and it makes no difference.
