I’ve used a moft.us magsafe wallet on my iPhone for 3+ years. The announcement today had me worried when watching live. I thought MagSafe wasn’t on the duo for a second.

Now that it’s confirmed it has it my next concern is that a MagSafe wallet won’t fit on the phone.

I tried to look for measurements but didn’t see them and I haven’t seen anyone try yet.

I know it’s silly and makes no practical sense. But, Do you think it will fit? It’s close to a deal breaker for me as it will mean I have to come up with a new way to carry my cards.

I can't believe no one tested wallets at the event. The magnetic circle is pretty high up, which is good. I suspect many or most current wallets won't fit, but I suspect there's enough vertical space to make one that does (unlike the Z Fold 8...).

That’s what I’m hoping.

Or maybe a new wallet with moving the magnet down a little to make it fit right up against the camera bump.

I keep searching for someone that did test a wallet. But haven’t found it yet if someone did.

According to AI, a credit card is longer than the distance from teh camera bump to the edge of the phone caseless.

It seems you will only be able to use a wallet that is designed to attach to a case that has a thick enough border to keep the card from overlapping the edge.

Or… a case that has an integrated wallet, but that means you cannot MagSafe charge it without taking it out of a case.

I know it is a minor thing, but this is giving me second thoughts on the duo. I am used to snapping my wallet on when i leave the house and taking it off when i get home. I don’t want a standalone wallet again…

Same. I definitely don’t want a standalone wallet.

Hopefully somehow it can be figured out.

I’m sure eventually someone will try and we can get a visual of how close it is.

The specs page does not include wallets, but does list them for the 18 Pro/Max, and I’ve seen photos where the top of a MagSafe wallet hits the bump - so Apple’s are a no-go (and, as @Jeffgtx said credit cards are to tall, so it isn’t Apple’s design).

However, a credit card is only about 1mm wider than the Duo, so a savvy designer could probably make a horizontal wallet case work.

I used a ruler against the product and reviewer images of the Duo. It's ~118mm tall, and my rough estimate is that there is ~91mm below the camera bump. My credit cards are ~85mm long. It's tight, but it seems like a clever designer could make a mag wallet that fits - to the absolute edge. My current mag wallet is ~95mm long.

I have been worried about the same thing. I have used a Magsafe wallet for years since Magsafe was introduced. I hope that there is a solution. I did see on the Fold 8 someone had a case and was able to fit a Magsafe wallet backwards covering the camera. But sounds like that is not a solution for the iPhone Duo based on the location of the magnets.

Posted from the hands on. Shout out to Mr. Mobile. There is a overhang, but looks like there is some room to move the magnets

It’s not silly. I may not get the duo because of it. I’d like to think someone will make it work, even if it is horizontally on the device. I may not need a credit card, but I will need my diver license and perhaps one other card.

You can change the placement of the magnets on the wallet.

Interesting, Apple's compare page leaves out wallet support under the Duo's MagSafe section

Still searching for a detachable Magsafe wallet that works with the iPhone Duo, but here are some alternatives that I have found:

Folio style with 2 card slots:

Wallet Case, but looks like it will cover the magsafe ring:

This one isn't exactly what I'm looking for, but is promising for the fact that cards look like they will fit on the back of the phone.
