iPhone Plica

Sounds classier than any other word for fold imo

Otherwise iPhone Passport, which would appeal to the jetset audience that will be the primary market for it

Edit: if John is really crazy, drop the iPhone and just call it "Passport", that would be a huge flex and open them up to have different models of Apple Passport down the line

Just let this marinate in your brain for a bit: "iPhone Folio" Just let it sit... On the iPhone Duo matter however, just remember how well things went for Microsoft's Surface Duo... Just saying...

As others have mentioned. Stay away from the word Ultra. You don't call something Ultra unless it's the top of the line. No faceID, no telephoto lens. That is not an Ultra device.

iPhone Math X 2

If there's a weak joke that they misheard iPhone Math -> iPhone Max - then this could be iPhone Duet 😉

I think they should just call it iPhone 2 then.

They’ve never used that one and also it would be very typical for them to draw themselves in a corner for the next year. 😁

Then the next release can be the 2S for speed. It will have an M7 Chip and has 5 minutes of battery life and connects to sky net.

Is now a good time to vent about how much I hate Apple's product and service names? Also getting tired of the tech industry copying each other's naming. "Max" this. "Ultra" that.

While the long-awaited foldable iPhone has often been referred to as the iPhone Ultra or the iPhone Fold in rumors, another name making the rounds is iPhone Duo.

There is no actual evidence that Apple will use the iPhone Duo name, but it is certainly a possibility. Apple has used Duo branding in the past, for its PowerBook Duo line of laptops in the 1990s and for its MagSafe Duo Charger in the early 2020s.

Article Link: iPhone Duo?

And for those *remember* Apple in the 90s and the infamous Duo, …

A Duo-ver is a terrible idea.

My bet is that this is what it'll be called. Makes more sense for the form factor instead of "Ultra".
I feel Apple are kind of stuck because Ultra makes logical sense based on the Apple Watch Ultra and Ultra M chips.

But selling a phone that’s better than a pro in some ways (folding design and bigger screen) but in other ways worse than the pro (touch ID and two cameras on the back) will be a hard justification as for example on paper the Apple Watch Ultra exceeds its non ultra counter part in every way.

Duo work’s descriptively but Microsoft used that and fold, same issue.

I guess we’ll find out soon.

Duo makes more sense than Ultra for a phone that’s going to have some necessary compomises due to the form factor. Ultra makes more sense for next year’s 20th anniversary phone.

Naming ultra it's the most stupid when the hardware itself can't equals like pro Apple naming ultra because it's ultra expensive.
