iPhone email broken 1.1.3

    I upgraded to 1.1.3 yesterday and my email doesn't work anymore. It tries to download it, but it never works. I reset the email info in iTunes, but I can't get it to work. Does anyone else have this problem or know what to do to fix it?

    BTW I'm using gmail.

    Was working with gmail now nothing.

    have you got it set up for pop or imap


    mine is imap

    I set it up for POP, and in the E-mail settings under Advanced for the account it says port 995 (which GMail uses for POP), but it says IMAP prefix under it. Does that mean that it's trying to use the POP port, but for IMAP?

    I have both POP and IMAP enabled in GMail.

    I saw this today (https://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=86615) and I think that it's using the POP port number but speaking IMAP.

    I used to have it using POP but changed to IMAP close before the 1.1.3 update came out.

    Try following this from the beginning:
    http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=77702

    And also, sometimes to view all the mail in say the.. "starred" folder, it may have to check and re-download all the messages again..

    But for me it works fine.. So I'm happy to answer any questions.

    I stumbled across this while googling the same problem. This solution worked for me though, I hope it may work for everyone... I did a restore, before I restored my backed up phone stuff, I went into the email and set up an account just to see if it works. After that I exited and restored. The restore seemed kinda flaky, I had to disconnect the phone after it said the restore was finished, it didn't just pop up in iTunes after that. I rebooted the phone and everything works as it's supposed to...at least so far.
