iPhone 5 that fits in the case leaks, 4"+ screen, 8 MP, 1080p, 1 GB RAM, A5 dual core chip, oblong home button with touch capability for swiping, etc. I would love LTE but I put that at roughly a 20% chance.

Sleek, new, gorgeous iPhone 5—completely redesigned from the ground up!

bigger, higher resolution screen, spacious home button with incredible touch sensitivity, at least 1 GB of high-speed RAM, optional 32 GB of blazing fast flash storage, increased battery life, cutting-edge LTE wireless network access, NFC chip for wireless payments/interactivity

the iphone4s replaces the current model for verizon/ATT so they only have one model across both carriers

huh?

What will be the name of the current iPhone 4 then?

I think he is arguing that the only reason people started rumoring that the next phone might be called a 4S is because Apple previously added an S onto the 3G. If they had not, then likely the 4S moniker would not even be on people's minds as a possible name.

The fact that case manufacturers aren't doing an about face and are instead SHIPPING cases based on a redesign is pretty solid evidence of a redesign.

This is how the talk will be:

1. Tim Cook will start by telling how great a company Apple is and acknowledge Steves great work for the company (5 mins).

2. Cook will explain how many different stores they have (App, iTunes, iBooks whatever) and how many people are using them (5 mins).

3. Cook will then talk about how the iPhone has changed everybody's lives and how many billion iPhones they have sold etc. (10 mins).

4. Cook will introduce new iPhone 4S/5 whatever, and key features (15 mins).

5. That Scott person will talk about iOS/new iPhone, and demo a few features. Maybe: Some unknown App-maker person will give a short presentation (20 mins). Phil Schiller will be on Facetime and people will laugh.

6. Cook will wrap up and show commercial (5 mins).

Total: 50 mins. That leaves 15 mins for other stuff.

A redesigned 5 with 4.2" screen, alum back, 1gb ram, a5, 8mp camera, 4g/LTE, unbelievably thin. It'll support ATT's hspa+, but not their version of LTE, only Verizon's version. A lower end 4s with A5, 8mp camera. iOS 5/Facebook biz, iPod touch update. Introduced in the opposite order I just listed. I'm going big or going home:)

Cut the cords, can we all agree on this? just for the sake of our own precious minds. As long there is no more news coming the next few days we have to cut the cords and see who will be right and who will be not.

So here a chance to place your opinion, in one or two small sentences, on what will be showed coming tuesday.

Mine = Tuesday will be an iPhone 4 event with a One more thing section, as in a redesigned iPhone 5.

Phew, glad to finally get my chance to express my opinion!

Prices will be $199 for 32GB and $299 for the 64GB - iPhone 5

Price will be $99 for 16GB - iPhone 4

Yes, the prices will be aggressive

I hope thats true!

My predictions:

Sales numbers and marketing BS for the first 15-30 minutes.

iPhone 4 will be the discount model. $99 for an 8GB.

iPhone 4S. White and Black. 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB sizes. 8MP camera, more RAM, A5 chip, better antennas, world mode (GSM+CDMA), "4G" HDSPA+. Nothing more really on the hardware side.

New iPod models. Better camera, bigger storage sizes. Discontinue old iPod line (may or may not be announced at the keynote).

iOS 5. Focus will be heavy on the Assistant feature. Recap of iOS 5. Recap of iCloud. Recap of iTunes Match.

iOS 5, Lion 10.7.2, iCloud, iTunes Match, updates for iWork, all available on day of keynote, probably within a few hours of it.

Preorders for iPhone 4S within a week. Ships the following week or two.

Done. No surprises. Most boring keynote for MacRumors readers in the last 5 years.

I think youre unfortunately right man. Tomorrow will be a day for at most a 4s. As Apple sad 2011 would be the year op the iPad 2, 2012 will it be for the 5. The 4 is still selling great, I think Apple therefor thought to do this year only a mayor software update to compete with others, as that would be enough. Galaxy s2's, Nexus primes, HTC's, the iPhone 4 is still the number 1 phone. On some point the competitors has better specs but not significantly groundbreaking features, No. Therefor Apple sees no competitions in their league and thinks why shouldn't we groundbreaking at a point where we still selling like crazy. I hope it ain't so but am affraid it is....no thumbs up or down necesarry just trying to be realistic.

A week ago I would have put a small chunk of cash on a redesign. Tonight I would take that back and put it on nothing but the cheaper iPhone 4 and the improved iPhone 4S.

iPhone 4S (I still think they're going to call it the 5...I will be flabbergasted if Apple is stupid enough to call the only new phone they release a "4S") announced - A5, 8MP camera, 16/32GB storage, Assistant feature exclusive. iPhone 4 with zero changes drops to $99 with 8 GB. Sad but likely.

$199-32 GB iPhone 5
$299-64 GB iPhone 5

I think the phone might look roughly the same as the current iPhone 4. But maybe it will have a metal back.

iPhone 5 to be announced with a new form factor. iPhone 4 to be replaced by the 4S which looks near identical to the 4.

This.

I just cannot see Cook walking on stage and holding up an iPhone 4(S) as the new iPhone. Not after all this time. Sorry but even with as many Apple loyalists and apologists as there are, that would not bode well for their image, at least for a while.

iPhone 4S to replace the 4 (btw, you cannot order it on the Apple store anymore....)

New iPhone 5 with new form factor and bits like notification light etc.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

As long as I get a better processor, camera, and resolution, I'll be happy.

This is what I am expecting as well. I am wondering if I'll be compelled to get one. I have had every version but a lackluster upgrade doesn't seem to make sense anymore.

Then there is this:

I couldn't agree more. Cook will be cooked if that's all he has after a year and a half.

Changed my view again/ Today will all be a about what the iPhone did for Apple, the recordbreaking sales and such and they will tell in 2012 with the 5th birthday they will celebrate this with a newly redesigned iPHone 5 but it will unfortunately come out somewhere in june 2012. That is the "1" notifications mean I think.
4s today, 5 in 2012....sucks though.
