Yeah, but Android doesn't run on iPhones, so we are where we are.Gee, mister. Interactive widgets? That's been on Android since like... when Noah built that ark.
Most people don’t need to…. But they want toAm I the only one that does not need to go into beta program this year?
I know, and I deliberately mock iOS/iPhone for not giving users features that are "a given" with Android exactly because of that reason.Yeah, but Android doesn't run on iPhones, so we are where we are.
Was thinking the same thing. They made it seem like it was an iPadOS only feature, which would've been lame. It’s funny that there’s so much overlap between iOS and iPadOS that they had to save this for the iPadOS section to make it seem like iPad gets features
Sure, unification works too. Yes, I'm all for iPadOS being closer to macOS, although in some ways it's been the other way. I know there are a lot of people out there who want a simplified touchscreen Mac, but I want my Mac to be a Mac — for everything else there's iPad and iPhone.More like unification. But honestly I would like more to have MacOS on iPad or if iPadOS would be closer to the macOS than iOS. iPad with keyboard and TouchPad, connected to the external screen, is more computer than phone.
Same. This is innovation at its finest. For some reason I thought they were already interactive. Goes to show how much I have used the existing widget system...
And alternative launchers. One of my most requested features for years, it should have been on iOS 14 or at least iOS 15.
I love using the widgets on Android, things like mail and notes are so useful to me.
iOS is so close to being the perfect OS for me now, I love Android 14 but some of the little things on iOS are still so handy.
I just NEED
Split screen/multi windows
Native theme changes
notifications massively improved
Then we're done.
With all of this great widget functionality, can we get rid of the mandatory flashlight and camera widgets on the Lock Screen, for the love of all that is holy? I don’t need to be able to start the camera with a swipe AND a widget, and as much as I use Flashlight on purpose, the accidental activations are staggering.
They were originally (and still work that way in the Notification Center area if the widget was build as we know them from the early days of widgets in iOS14. A good example of an app which still supports both old (interactive) and newer (non-interactive) is Cromulent Labs Launcher. Finally we will go back to proper interactive widgets again. For some reason I thought they were already interactive. Goes to show how much I have used the existing widget system...
I haven‘t jumped on the beta wagon since iOS 13. I upgrade every 2 years now, and want my device to feel brand new with a new OS and case.Am I the only one that does not need to go into beta program this year?
