Foldable doesn’t reduce weight. The Z flip weighs around the same as the S20+. The reduction in weight have to come from materials and components.

Yes thats true, but at least it has a much smaller footprint when folded, so more compact and pocket friendly.

There’s a way, aka using plastic frame and back. Plastic is exactly why there are many Android phones with hefty 5000 and 6000 mAh batteries, yet they weigh less than iPhones.

But plastic brings other issues like durability.

Yes thats true, but at least it has a much smaller footprint when folded, so more compact and pocket friendly.

Yeah at least it has one potential positive side besides all the additional pain points.

True, but as a frame, plastic is more bendable and less durable than aluminum. I have a feeling that Apple keeps trying a more durable material (series 7000 aluminum, then stainless steel, and rumored titanium) was due to bendgate. That must have left a deep scar with the design team. 😀 I don't see Apple every going back to plastic, which is unfortunate.

Not interested in a z flip like iPhone, don’t gain nothing from a small foldable phone, give me the big boy foldable 7.7” or 8” foldable. 😊

5.4" for me. If I need a bigger screen, I have my iPad and MBP.

Ditto. I’m still on the iPhone 7 with a MacBook Pro so this is basically my exact use case already.
