Iphone from the US to the UK

Hi,

I will be going to the US soon and wanted to confirm which IPhone i need to get so that it could work in the UK. Do i purchase one with carrier or one without?

If i were to purchase apple care will that be valid in the UK or just the US?

The US has 2 models:

A1865 - GSM + CDMA
A1901 - GSM only

The UK sells the A1901 but the A1865 will also work in the UK because it has everything the A1901 has and more.

Also the US model is nicer than the UK one, there are no regulatory symbols on the back.
