    Hi all,

my iPhone hangs or freezes while I try to download photos. It just stops with 229 photos to go.

I really want the photos off it, just back from a boys trip to Barcelona, and I have loads of fun photos.

    I have a MacBook Pro running 10.4.11, iTunes 9.1.1 (12), an iPhone 3Gs running 3.1.3 and iPhoto 6.0.6 (322).

There is a message on iTunes that says,
"A newer version of iPhone software is available (Version 4.0). To update your iPhone with the latest software, click Update".

When I try to click update, I get the message,
"This version of iTunes (9.1.1) is the current version".

I then tried to restore the iPhone, it goes through the software extraction, requests a backup, and then I get a message,
"This iPhone could not be restored. this device isn't eligible for the requested build".

    Any ideas on
    a) how to complete the download of my photos?
    and
    b) how to upgrade to the latest iPhone software?

Many thanks for any help or suggestions.
    Effortless.

You'll need to install iTunes 9.2 before you can install iOS4 on your phone. If you can't update using apple updater, try downloading it off Apple's website.
