    Hello All,

I've had my iPhone since the 29th, and l love the thing more every day. Thus far I've only charged via wall outlet. However yesterday I decided after I synced the unit I'd leave it plugged into my Macbook to charge. After about an hour of charging, the screen heated up to the point that I couldn't press it against my face to make a call. Rough estimate, I'd say it was 100+ degrees (I'l try to reproduce and verify this temp shortly).

This doesnt happen when charging via wall outlet.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

don't try to reproduce it, because it is advised in the warranty that the phone should not go above like 94 degrees or something. i donno though, your call.

It was in the incase sleeve ........ that may been the issue as it wouldn't have dissipated the heat very well. However it remains in the case when charged via wall outlet, and doesnt suffer the heat.

Are you referring to the Environmental requirements?

    Operating temperature: 32° to 95° F (0° to 35° C)

This operating temperature of 32° to 95°,is the room temperature, not the actual temp the device reaches.

i have noticed that having wifi on while charging not only makes it so that your battery will not show a full charge but also makes the phone extremely hot.

Apple recommends you charge it without a case because of heat issues (see Apples battery faq)

That being said I have the same case and have not had that issue - however I only charge it in the wall mount unless Im at work - its never plugged into my laptop more than 30 minutes at a time.
