The following link is an animation I created entitled "iPhone Holography."

http://web.mac.com/iphone2007/iWeb/Site/iphone.html

I created it to 1) recognize the achievements of Apple employees, 2) create a slightly different form of iPhone commercial, and 3) practice certain animations techniques.

Don't take it too seriously.

Enjoy,
Daniel

The animation is super!

How long did you take to do it?

The only thing I would change is to have a little light music in the background!

But apart from that you are very talented!

Thank you for the compliments. They are appreciated.

Regarding the question of software, I use NewTek's Lightwave 3D 9.0
on a Macintosh Dual G5 and Intel-based MacBook Pro for modeling,
animation, and rendering. For video and audio post-production I used
Apple's Final Cut Studio Pro.

Cheers,
Daniel

being a graphic designer myself, i can see that alot of effort and time has gone into this movie (if you rendered the iphone and the tower from scratch)

good work.

wow, I'm very impressed! I could never do that sort of stuff! How long have you been doing 3D?

Hello wmmk,

I've been doing 3D in LightWave since September of last
year (9/2006), so about 7 months on a part time, hobby,
basis.

I have dabbled with 3D game engines, specifically id Software's
DOOM 3 and Quake 4 engines, generating short movie sequences
for various small projects. That is, using the game engine as
a general purpose real-time rendering engine.

Thanks for the compliment.
