iPhone 17 Pro iPhone iCloud Backup Question

My iPhone 17 Pro says that the iCloud backup was last backed up never but it shows a backup file size on my iCloud backups for the device. Is it possible that the phone is still doing the initial backup? I direct transferred from my 16 pro to 17 pro during the setup process. It is also estimating my next backup size to be about a gig larger then the current backup size
