iPhone iCloud Question

I'm trying to sell my iPhone, which was damaged after falling into the toilet. I removed the iPhone from my Find My iPhone on iCloud.com but the IMEI is still saying that Find My iPhone is still on.

Can anyone help me understand why it's still on even though I've removed it?

Log in to your iCloud again and make sure it's removed.
What imei says it's still tied? They told you that at Apple or any random imei check website?

how did you check your IMEI? you must be using some free imei checking services, that are misleading usually especially with find my iphone ON/OFF. You can try a paid IMEI check for 100% surety.
