A friend in Europe has an iPhone 6s-16Gb . Since Covid she doesn't have enough money to buy a new one
She cannot update to 13.7 OTA because it's too big and even deleting everything she does not have enough room
She cannot update using her computer because she has an old macbook and the last system is HighSierra
where she cannot download Apple Configurator that now requires MacOs 14.
How to solve this conundrum ?

Has she tried putting the phone in DFU mode and allowing the phone to update to the latest build that way? She would have to set everything up again as it would restore her phone as new (hopefully) with 13.7.

I didn't think of that! Thanks I hope she will be able to do it

If not, no loss. 13.7 is not a significant update from 13.6X. Its mostly just the built in COVID tracker app functionality

I’m sure your friend can find someone else with a computer compatible to perform an upgrade. Best success!

Yeah, but she helps older people so it would be very useful

Thanks, but it's not that easy.

What’s not so easy? It can’t be done on the current device or computer, hence another computer is n ended to restore it.
One could buy one, rent one, loan one or visit somebody else to get access.

Sure, COVID-19 doesn’t make that any easier but that’s essentially the available options.

I’m using 5SE 16GB as a backup phone.
Uninstall all apps until the phone have 4GB free memory.

Then download the latest OS version.

And reinstall the apps.

Now, i have iOS14 beta7 on my old SE.

Sorry for my bad english.
