How many of you think the iPhone will be available in Canada in June at launch?
no one. why would you think it would be?
No, it probably won't be until the holiday season at best
I doubt it will be at launch, even though it really should be. However, I think in a month or two we'll see it in Canada as I thought there were rumblings of a July release on Rogers.
No one knows for sure. For all we know the iPhone could be released worldwide at WWDC (WORLDWIDE (Hint?) Developers Conference)
Or the guy in an Apple store waving an iPhone about infront of an iMac's iSight.
Late August or early September for back to school (I hope)
You think the iPhone will sell well in Canada? We don't have the generous data plans that are available in the US which I feel is the limiting factor behind most people getting internet-centric smartphones. I don't think the back to school season will be a target date, this gadget is too expensive for the average student.
I think you really hit the nail on the head there, maestrokev. Data plans. Currently, for 200MB/month of data with Rogers, it's $100/month, and there is no such thing as an "Unlimited" plan as there is in the US. Heck, for 0.5MB/month, it is around $30/month. That is just ridiculous! Until Rogers offers more affordable plans, I can't see the iPhone taking off in Canada.
