iPhone interface in new Land Rover. Awesome!

Great concept car this from Land Rover. Was being tested in NYC recently.

The iPhone will slot into a holder and can be used to start the car!!

It is an awesome idea. One has to wonder if you have to jailbreak to do that. And what will happen if you need to replace your iPhone?

A great idea and forward thinking from Land Rover...

Equipment includes iPhone and iPod docking stations, a coolbox and a bottle chiller that can clip onto the lowered talilgate: this splits horizontally and folds out flat to provide a seating area - complete with padded cushions and integral cupholders. The cabin seats fold flat to allow load space for bikes, skis, surfboards and suchlike.

Sooo...what happens if there are no keys and the iPhone battery is dead, cause' you just got off the line standing in the desert telling your soon to be wife, that you will be there in a few minutes???

The look inside is over-the-top and pretty gaudy, but it's a good idea (I would personally love the iPhone in there with just a 'previous', 'next', and 'pause' button for music controls. Volume could be on the normal head unit and on the steering wheel.

That would be quite excellent, I think. And the outside of the vehicle is pretty amazing. Reminds me of the first time I saw the Infiniti FX.

Obviously you don't own an iPhone, if you do, you would know that iPhone has really good notices about battery life.

O2 aren't going to sell them. It'll be in the Apple Store soon under iPhone accessories! 🙂
