iPhone/iPhoto sync issue

My iPhone pictures will not sync to iPhoto when connected. Can sync apps but not pictures. Was working great for about a month then it just stopped working. Any suggestions?

I meant to say my iPhone will not sync with iPhoto. Computer does not recognize my iPhone as a "camera" anywhere.

iPhone 4. Purchased 10/12/2011. Sprint network.
Macbook Pro

No it won't sync through iTunes. Also I just discovered when I try to send a picture "text/mail" the phone will only send one particular picture, no matter what picture I pick it seems like the phone defaults to this one picture and won't let me send the pic I want to send.

I must disclose that this is my first iPhone and I'm kinda learning what to do on-the-fly. I am clueless. Thank you for any help I can get.
