I've updated my iphone 3g software to 4 and now the ipod function won't work. It appears then flicks off after about 2 seconds. Any ideas?

I'm sorry to say this but when it comes to putting iOS on the iPhone 3G, the risks just outweigh the potential benefits. Try to downgrade! Recovery mode is always useful, too.

On the upside, at least you can replace the missing function by buying an iPod Touch, whereas iPhone 4 owners have an overpriced iPod Touch and they need a proper phone.

Thanks for the info.
Looks like a restore job. Can't go without my music!
