Don't you think that it would be nice if there was a keyboard for the iPod Touch/iPhone? It would have its own batteries, and the keyboard could be one of those fold-up travel ones. The iPhone is nice for web browsing, but then the virtual keyboard is a pain to use in long messages, even the landscape one. I think that it would be a nice accessory, because then you wouldn't really need a netbook, just an iPhone or iPod plus the foldup keyboard. Plus, there are nice office productivity suites out there, so I a separate keyboard would really help to bring the iPhone one step closer to being a computer.

I dont even understand the idea behind it. If it pains you to type out a long message, find a computer or simply call someone since you have a phone within the iPhone.

Exactly how would you hold the phone and then type one a keyboard at the same time? Ex. Riding in a car, train, subway....It just doesn't seem that grand to me.

I guess it would be nice to have that option for the people who want it/need it. On the other hand it might not be worth it to any one manufacturer to develop/produce one as due to the way most people use iPhones/iPods there seams to be little interest in external keyboard solutions.

This idea immedeately shifts you over to the "Other phones" marked.
Iphone with keyboard = not an Iphone

Well, the Mac Rumors link is the Macbook Pro/Powerbook forum so I just post everything in here.

Yep, that's right. I'm just too lazy to change the link in my bookmark to just Mac Rumors, not the Macbook Pro/Powerbook Forums. TEEHEE!!!

I'm with you on this. The iphone's main purpose is to be a phone. Granted it does a lot more than that but it's still a mobile phone. It's not meant to take the place of a computer. Its great at typing small emails, texting and surfing, but not typing full letters and documents.

The small screen alone should be enough reason why its not a replacement for a computer.
