iPhone is Disabled

I was running this evening and using my iPhone 4s for Music (iTunes Match), Mapmyrun and Couch to 5K, the iPhone was in my pocket when suddenly the music stopped and there was a large message across the screen

iPhone is disabled
try again in 1 minute

When I tried it again after about one minute, it was working again, has anyone any idea as to what would cause this.

Usually this happens when you try to unlock the phone and enter the wrong passcode more than 5 times. Perhaps somehow in your pocket something was going, sort of like pocket dialing.

Sometimes I forget to put mine to sleep before I drop it in my pocket while listening to music and contact with the legs can do all kinds of stuff.
