iphone issue

So my iphone will not load into itunes. I was restoring as I had it replaced today and in process of sycning, an error message pops up saying the device is disconnected

Now, every time i plug it in, it will say sycnhing in progress but the phone is not recognized in itunes. in fact it causes itunes to beachball and i must force quit it

You need to put it in DFU mode.


Plug the iPhone into your computer.
Turn the iPhone off.
Press and hold the home button and sleep/wake button.
After 10 seconds release the sleep/wake button and keep holding onto the home button.

Wait till your computer makes the noise of something being plugged in via usb.

i tried doing that as i have done dfu many times in the past yet the phone would not turn on no matter how hard i tried

yea i did. i dont know whats going on. i am doing an erase of all settings/contents on my phone which takes a while

You might as well uninstall and reinstall iTunes while you're at it.
