Had a post on here recently about a slightly different topic. Long story short. My iPhone was wiped. My macbook was wiped. I am going to boot my macbook from an external drive and do an iPhone sync with the library so my iPhone will be sorted.

Now, whats the best way to get all that data (music, contacts etc) onto my new iTunes. Can I transfer from iPhone->iTunes or is there a better way? I've read a few of the many suggestions here but considering my situation, I thought best to get some opinions.

Cheers,

Ideally I'd like to take advantage of the fact that I have everything on an external hard drive, could be easier, any ideas?
