Iphone locked in Itunes (T-Mobile carrier)

When you refer to page 11 and page 15, what are you following, exactly?

And can you re-confirm which firmware you now have installed?

Got all the way thru last night, but made a mistake(put in the sim card too soon, and did not work. Did again this morning, but got stuck at the options screen. Should I select install Cydia and already pwned? Was not real clear on that. The phone had been unlocked already, so just got confused. Also, when I checked custom boot logo, and recovery logo, I did not get the windows that the tutorial showed, so I skipped them as selections. Unfortunately, I can't find anyone around here to help. If I can't screw it up, I will keep on working. 😕

I am not sure which firmware is installed. I can't get to anything on the phone other then emergency calls. When I got the phone it had been upgraded to the current firmware at that time, about a year ago. Is there anyway to find out?

No, dont click already pwned cause you restored it thru DFU so its not currently pwned.
And yes you will need cydia so select that also.

omigod!!!!! It worked!! I just can't believe it finally worked. I can't thank you guys enough. This forum is a lifesaver. I love this phone, but I am really po'd that Apple would do this to anyone. I have had Mac since 1984, but I refuse to use ATT. Another quick question. If I buy another locked phone for my husband, can I unlock it just using these instructions? Thanks a million.😀

Really glad it worked for you 🙂

Those instructions will only work for you if you buy another second-hand 2G phone, ie the old one with the silver back.

If you buy a current iPhone 3G or 3GS new from the store, they have changed the firmware so that they cannot currently be unlocked. If you want a 3G, you need to make sure it is on 3.1.2 or earlier (current version is 3.1.3). If you want a 3GS you need to buy one that was manufactured before week 40 of 2009 (4th and 5th digit of serial number tells you this) and again it must not have been updated beyond 3.1.2. In either case, there are different instructions for unlocking but we can point you to them when you need.
 
Only if its a 2G like yours.
If its a 3G or 3GS its gets a little complicated cause you gotta figure out what firmware and what baseband version is running and if its currently unlockable or not.

If you updated to 3.1.3, you installed a new baseband, which is currently unlockable. The tools to unlock will likely be released when the next major firmware update is released.

So for now, there is no solution to hear about.
 
iphone stock

at first i tried the snowreeze to JB my iphne 3g
but the theres no service and cant detect any carriers
so itried to restore it only with 3.1.3
but then its stock with itunes logo with usb and lock icon above it.... please help me

i have come across the exact same probleeeem! i stupidly uprgraded my 3g iphone through itunes and now am completely locked out!... has anyone found a solution as to re-unlocking it, or anything close to it?!!!

Re-JB, use Cydia to install Fuzzyband. Fuzzyband works on bootloader 5.08 (about 10% of first 3G phones)

If not, you are locked for now.
