    Seems strange, I know.

I plugged my iPhone in last night before going to sleep, it got the "battery charging" indicator, but when I woke up, it was only at 80% and still "charging".

I felt it and it was warm to the touch.

Turned it off, plugged it in, and turned it back on. Came back on with 99% charge. 5 minutes later, it was back down to 80% and kind of warm.

    Is my phone toast?

    I hope so.
I'm still pretty hungry this morning...

Anyways, how was it charging? Wall outet or computer?

The battery could be faulty, but try letting it discharge and then recharge to 100%. If that doesn't help do a DFU restore. You know the next step, if that doesn't work.

It'll lose charge when you've got it plugged in to a sleeping/shutdown computer.

Try charging by using the power adapter in an outlet.
