A decade ago (jeez, I feel old) there were articles about a magsafe-like adapter for Lightning ports that was being developed. Some mentioned a Kickstarter for it. Did anything ever come of that? I am curious because a friend has had his phone's Lightning Port wear out due to repeated use. I thought this might be an unintended benefit of the concept — to rely on magnets that don't wear out the port. The little Lightning port adapter could probably just stay in there all the time because it's super low profile — or at least it was in concept. Did this item ever make it to market? Is there anything like this for an iPhone (either Lightning or USB-C)?

TIA.
