    I go to Settings->Mail->Add Account

    I click other since it's my college e-mail. I select "POP" up top, enter all of the necessary information. It says "Verifying POP account information".

    Then I recieve an error message "Cannot Connect Using SSL; Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?". Anyways I picked "Yes" in hopes it would actually connect but still no go.

    First wtf is "SSL" and how can I "fix" this error?

    SSL I think stands for secure socket layer. In short, its a secure connection to the server to protect you data in transit.

    If it does not work either way, the other settings must be wrong. Are you sure you have them right? The username may or may not be the entire e-mail address. The POP servers, double check, etc...

    it could be your school's doing. when i had my school email account, i had to request pop-access before accessing my mail from my mac's mail.app. check with your school's computer department, or whoever is in charge of these sorts of things, and find out if you need to take action in accessing your mail remotely.

    Well, interestingly enough all I had to do was agree to the SSL error the second time it came up. ???? Oh well, atleast it works!
