I'm running IOS 10.2.1 on my iPhone 6S.

My Mail storage usage continues to slowly increase regardless of how I try to reduce it.
I run 2 POP3 accounts and religiously delete mail, attachments, etc.
But somehow my Mail storage slowly increases up to now 1.25 GB.

The only way I've been able to clear the storage is to delete an account and re-add it.
That seems pretty lame for such a sophisticated device.

    What am I missing here?

Its downloaded attachments. Even if you delete the mail, it stores attachments in cache. macOS does this as well, but because of a true file system in macOS you can delete the attachments. I've noticed that cache cleaning apps in the App Store help reduce this, but with the new file system coming out, those apps no longer work. Hopefully updates will fix it.

    This works well https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/memory-disk-scanner-pro-check/id921515621?mt=8
It comes with a free trial of 3 scans.
