Let us know how it goes with a content blocker installed.I clicked on what I thought was a legit link in Facebook
Great! Running a blocker is good for increasing both safety and battery life, plus it reduces data consumption and privacy invasions. It's win-win.Thanks! So far so good... I rebooted after I installed the blocker.
That says it all right there!I clicked on what I thought was a legit link in Facebook
It's a maliciously crafted advertisement, it uses JavaScript to send a message to the browser. Content blockers will block this junk.
Perhaps, but then you lose your browsing history. I'd find that mighty annoying since i refer back to things all the time. You can also go to settings and chose click on clear history and website data. That will fix it right away.
