How do you guys open an app that has 'faceID required' on your mac desktop using the iPhone Mirroring app? I would hope that it would just open since I gave permission/authenticated my iphone to my mac already.
Is that for apps using the new FaceID lock? For me I'm talking about apps like banking apps or similar that use FaceID loginIt should work via Touch ID or the Mac's password.
I just set Safari to require Face ID to test this out, and it seems to be working for me.

Yeah, I thought that's what the OP was referring to. I also tried Microsoft Authenticator, which is set to require Face ID through the app (not iOS's new feature) and that one worked too.Is that for apps using the new FaceID lock? Yes, but it seems apps 'reset' if you do that, and you have to re-setup FaceId, so its not worth itIsn’t the passcode always an option when faceid or touchid fail?
Same here Intel Mac.For me it doesn't work (intel mac). It ask me the computer password or I can unlock it with my apple watch but when I try one of both methods it just return to the previous screen when it says its locked and when I click again I have to do the same process so in short its an eternal loop.
I hoped the new macOS 15.0.1 and iOS 18.0.1 would fix that but it still not working. I have to turn off faceid for my journal app to be able to use it in mirroring, which is probably the main reason I want this feature on my Mac. Annoying.
have you managed to get it working?Same here Intel Mac.
ANything under FaceID will not work. You'll get the prompt, but it'll do nothing and stuck you in an auth prompt loop.
Nope. Still bugged. Typical Apple.have you managed to get it working?
I made multiple Reddit threads to say that after each macOS updates. But unfortunately, it's the truth since a couple of years. Apple will bring some new features with new bugs along with it on each new major macOS releases, and then it takes months or even a year to fix them. I'm very frustrating with how Apple managed things lately and their quality control is definitively not as good as before. We can't say "it just work" anymore. Why releasing a feature that doesn't work... it's been 5 months already
I have an Intel MBP with Touch ID, last one to be produced before M1. Not workingI made multiple Reddit threads to say that after each macOS updates. Plus, this bug is only for the intel mac because we don't have access to touch ID, so Apple will care even less and it could end up with this bug will never be fix.
Wow, that's even worse! Its only working with silicon macs then... Like you said, what developing a feature for older macs if it doesn't work correctly?I have an Intel MBP with Touch ID, last one to be produced before M1. Not working

iPhone Mirroring can only be used with one Mac and one iPhone at a time. Your devices must meet these requirements. Your computer is a Mac with Apple silicon or Mac with the Apple T2 Security Chip and is using macOS Sequoia 15 or later
