iPhone mirroring - seeing Phone notification centre (not macOS notification centre)

I can swipe and see spotlight but not the notification centre.
I don't want to enable notifications on the mac.

Is this the case for everyone else?

Yes seems to be the same! Cannot access the control centre either...

EDIT:
I also don't want to enable iPhone notifications on my mac. So I am trying on the mac side:
System Settings > Notifications > Allow notifications from iPhone > Toggle: Off

EDIT 2:
Also, can't type in text in the search bar in spotlight search.
