Iphone + MobileMe contacts

Not sure what happened but my MobileMe contacts will not sync to my iPhone 3g anymore,

My iPhone contact list is completely blank

I can make a new contact on my phone and it will sync to the online mobileMe list

I can make a new contact on my online MobileME list and it will sync it to my iPhone

but the remaining 500+ contacts on my online list are not syncing.. I have no idea what to do ( short of having to make all those new entries @_@ )

Make sure that the sort order of contacts is the same, ie. Sort Order: Last, First; Display Order: First, Last is how I have mine. I couldn't sync my contacts because on my MacBook Pro I had the Display Order as First, Last but on the iPhone as Last, First. Once I fixed that my contacts synced properly.

I don't believe sort order has anything to do with it. Mine was syncing just fine until this weekend, and I have always had my sort orders different on the computer and the iphone.
