I'm thinking about purchasing an iphone. It will be important for me to make calls and use ical simultaneously to book clients into my schedule. Does the OS allow this to happen easily or is this level of multitasking limited?
If it is possible, could anyone with experience tell me whether this is practical, ie can you put a client on speakerphone while typing their name into ical?

If your on the phone with a 3G connection you can multitask like your saying. Just choose to switch to speakerphone.

Hope this helps,

you don't need 3G to be able to open the calendar on your phone. you can open other apps on your phone while on a call with no trouble. the only issue is being able to load websites or download email while on a call, as edge doesn't have the bandwidth to do that, while 3G does

but either way, yeah, you can make a call and input data into the calendar while you do it. just turn on the speakerphone, hit the home button, and go to the calendar app
