iPhone name scheming (like mac OS)

This thought crossed my mind as well. I do think apple is trying to move away from numbering phones - the number only made sense for the 4 since that the 4th iPhone. The 3GS was the first "s" model, that just happened to be the Third and really the 3 was for 3G, which was the second phone. In any event, I expect, within the enxt two year to have just iPhone and iPhone Pro for the bigger screen, like the iPads now. This also helps minimize critique for more incremental updates if everything just is an iPhone.

They kind of blew the number system when they jumped from 7 to 8 and X, and the fact that Samsung has their numbered and S and + models is a good reason to make some positive changes.
