Anyone notice this:
the first one was an iPhone

the second one was an iPhone 3G

the third one is an iPhone 3G S

So whats next? an iPhone 3G S+, and then an iPhone 3G S+ 2nd Gen, followed by the iPhone 4G, then iPhone 4G S, and so on. I kno I am getting carried away but I find it annoying for some reason how the names keep getting more complicated

Yeah. Adding an "s" is super complicated.

Well jumping from iPhone to iPhone 3G S in two years, while not complicated is in my opinion odd. I was hoping they would return to the name iPhone. I remember reading that one of the things that made the iPhone attractive was its name because it was simple.

And iPod Nano didn't stop being an iPod Nano after releases of new generations, nor did macbooks or shuffles or other products

No, what makes it attractive is that you can do so much more with it than a regular cell phone.

Why is everybody so obsessed with Pho?

I would imagine that the next iPhone will be a design change, and it would be named on it's most prominent feature.

As with the 3G it was...well 3G

With the 3GS it was...Speed.

iPhone 3G S P, with the prominent and underhyped feature, that apple almost forgot to include... phoning

The iPhone 3GS BAMF, featuring every friggin thing we've ever asked for and more!

But not really.

I think they're gonna go into the iPhone and the iPhone Pro next year. The iPhone 3GS will replace the iPhone 3G at the $99 price with the "iPhone" name and the next generation iPhone will be the iPhone Pro. Apple really screwed up with the naming last year and even more this year.
