iphone noise

on my 3g iphone wihen i shake it up and down 9along the iphones long axis) i hear a mass oscillate. my ipod touch does not exhibit same behavior so i dont think its the accelerometer

is this a common thing or a defect?

Yes, my iPhone 3G makes a sound when shaken, but not when stirred.

I never noticed and I don't shake my iPhone like that, but I do prefer shaken over stirred.

Mine sort of clicks when I shake it. I went to the voice memos app and recorded me shaking it and you can hear it pretty clearly. And yes i recorded it while holding the silent switch and volum buttons still.

My iPhone does not make any rattling noises. Send yours for a check. Could be a loose internal component.

they told me its normal contrary to what ive read
