iPhone not connecting to iTunes! Help?

Plugged my iPhone into the iMac today, and it wont bring up or connect to iTunes. This hasnt happened before. On my PC, same thing happened. Anyone have any ideas?

Update: Friday, Jan 22:
I went into Time Machine and restored my machine a few days back, and presto....the computer now sees my iPhone and everything works fine. I still dont know what happened to cause the problem, and that bothers me.

Can you manually open iTunes and have it sync? If not, try another computer or another cable.

Tried that, didnt work. iTunes doesnt see my iPhone on either computer. Tried two cables, no change.

Do a hard reset on your iPhone (Hold the home and power button until you see the apple logo) also reboot you computers.

i tried the DFU thing, the message never showed in itunes, but now my phone isnt working. it is on the black DFU screen but wont do anything. How do i get it off?
