iPhone not recognized on iPhoto

Not sure there is a post about this but i could find one....
I am on OS 10.6.2 and my 3GS (not jailbroken) is on 3.1.2. When i connect it to iPhoto it won't be recognized. I heard it is a known issue...are you aware of it? Any fix, tips?

Anyone please? My and my wife iPhones are not recognized either on out mb or mbp...
