A good friend of mine has a PC laptop running Win 7 and an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1. When he plugs is phone in to the laptop, it only brings up the device as a drive, but is not recognized by iTunes. My phone does the same thing on his computer.

Also, the phone will however be recognized and sync on my rMBP.

Latest version of iTunes on both machines.

Sorry for the grammatical issues in this post, banged it out at work...

iPhone not recognized

Sounds like drivers need reinstalling. Although it's odd that it displays as a USB devices?

Go into device management and remove the iPhone then reconnect and allow windows to reinstall the drivers. Next load iTunes and see if the iPhone shows up.
