Hi Everyone,

Any help with the following problem: today I updated my wife's iPhone 3GS to iOS6, and the battery died partway through the update (yes, I know, I should have plugged it in, but the battery was well charged).

Now when I try to turn the phone on, the Apple logo appears briefly, and then the phone turns back off. When I plug the phone into a computer, the phone continues to cycle on and off every few seconds, with the Apple logo coming on the screen and then it going blank again.

Any advice? The phone was working perfectly before, and I am really hoping that it is not beyond (easy) repair...

Thanks in advance...

Plug your device to your PC/Mac, put the device in DFU mode and restore.
Try the update again while the phone is plugged in to a power source. I recommend the OTA update rather than itunes.

I tried this a number of times but it didn't seem to work. However, finally the iTunes icon appeared on the screen and the problem has been resolved.

Thank you for your help and response.

Same issue

Hi !

I am having the same issue !

How do you was able to turn the iPhone on again?

Charging it directly on power source?

I am trying, leaving it charging, but it was rebooting exactly as your device was.

Please, let me know if you have done some different step !

Thanks a lot.
